TRAINING MANUAL FOR COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ARTHRITIS – A CPD PROGRAM

TRAINING MANUAL FOR COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ARTHRITIS – A CPD PROGRAM

Members of MPS will soon be receiving a Training Manual on Complementary Medicines in the Management of Arthritis.

For the community pharmacists, your participation will not only allow you to gain knowledge, there will be a series of advertisements in the newspaper highlighting the problem of arthritis, and patients are encouraged to visit a pharmacy for counseling. The Training Manual will provide useful information to assist your effort.

For this program, there are three steps involved and CPD points will be awarded for each stage, after evaluation.

Stage 1: After going through the training manual, kindly complete the test questions inside the manual and return to MPS by the end March.

Stage 2: You are also encouraged to document those cases that you come across in your pharmacy. From the advertisement in the newspaper, these patients are being directed to consult a pharmacist on their arthritic conditions and you can pick up the cases from there. A guideline of how to document these cases will be presented to you in a separate mailing.

Stage 3: There will be a 1-day workshop where lectures on updates of treatment and presentation of case studies will be conducted, and when you can also get your queries answered.

The location for the workshop will be determined later.
