MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

Greetings to all!

This message comes with a strong motivation to live life to the full. Read on to see why such a sense of urgency.

The Malaysian Pharmacy fraternity has lost one of its most outstanding members in the person of the late Mr Tan Yap who passed away on 13th March 2014 at the grand old age of 98 years. He was a role model for us in his willingness to live life to the full and serve mankind with passion. We are so proud to have the privilege to honor him at our 45th MPS Annual Dinner in May 2012. The Society honored him with an “Outstanding Pharmacist in Community Service” Award – an honor well deserved after spending the bulk of his life serving the Community and promoting the hand sign language in the Malaysian Society for the Deaf and Dumb.

Hence let us also treasure every moment of our life and celebrate life to the full!

The 25th FAPA Congress 2014 Organizing Committee members welcomed the FAPA Bureau members to Kota Kinabalu from 7th – 10th of March 2014. They came to get an update on the progress of the organizing and gave the “thumbs up” to the preparations made so far.

The “early birds” registrations have been paying online and the first 100 fully paid registrations are rapidly filling up. These fully paid participants are given 100 special “collector’s items” as gifts. So we urge all pharmacists to send in their registrations and pay up. At the same time, there are 16 exhibition booths for those keen to showcase their products or activities to professionals from 17 Countries in Asia Pacific.  Notable speakers have been invited to deliver quality papers and the learning as well as networking opportunities are tremendous. So come and have our horizons of knowledge broadened. There will be a post-congress Mount Kinabalu climb organized by Mr C V Chin and his team. This invigorating climb promises to open our eyes to the abundant flora and fauna in Malaysia. So make this “Visit Malaysia Year” a special year in our lifetime and live life to the full in beautiful Sabah- Land Below The Wind.

See you soon!

Yours in MPS
