The Pharmacy Guild of Australia congratulates Mrs Rhonda White on her appointment as an Officer of the General Division of the Order of Australia.
Mrs White’s AO is for distinguished service to the pharmacy profession, particularly through contributions to education and retail management practices, and as a role model for women in business.
As a pharmacist since 1963, Rhonda White has made an extraordinary contribution to the profession and the industry. With her husband Terry, the Terry White Chemists Group franchise network has grown to its current position of 168 pharmacies in all States, employing over 4,500 staff with a turnover of $1 billion.
Rhonda White opened her first community pharmacy in Clontarf, Queensland, 1964.The National President of the Guild, George Tambassis, said: “Rhonda White has made a significant and formidable contribution to community pharmacy in this nation, and thoroughly deserves this honour. Not only is she a distinguished pharmacist and businesswoman, she has frequently given of her time and experience to mentor pharmacy students and young pharmacists to help them make their way in our great profession.”
