PSA members vote for unity

Members of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia endorsed the creation of a unified Society by voting to accept a new National Constitution at the Annual General Meeting held in Sydney on 30 April.

PSA’s Branches have nominated their representatives on an Interim Board, which is working to finalise the transition arrangements.

With PSA functioning as a single entity, there will be more efficient use of resources and greater and more effective coordination of activity. There will be a greater focus on providing professional development and practice support opportunities for members as well as a stronger focus on, and heightened responsiveness to, issues of concern to the profession.

A truly national structure will greatly assist PSA in developing the skills of its members to keep pace with the changing nature of health-care provision.
