Researchers and practitioners are being given a unique opportunity to showcase their practice through poster and oral presentations at the Pharmacy Australia Congress (PAC14).

The PAC14 Organising Committee has called for people undertaking pharmacy-related research or implementing pharmacy practice innovation to submit abstracts to be considered for presentation at PAC14.

PAC14, Australia’s leading onshore pharmacy conference for pharmacists from all sectors of the profession, will be held in Canberra at the National Convention Centre from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 October 2014.

The PAC Program Committee is particularly interested in receiving submissions from practitioners who wish to share vital information that could help improve the practice of pharmacy and help to solve the current “pharmacy puzzle”.

This puzzle is the overarching theme of PAC14 which will attempt to solve the puzzle by examining how the profession is going through a period of change, with new roles for pharmacists, increased pressures on pharmacy owners and changes to the profession affecting every facet of pharmacy today.

PAC 14, PSA’s flagship event, will address these issues and help put the pieces of the puzzle together, and your presentation could be one of the pieces that helps to solve the puzzle.

The PAC Abstract Committee will review abstracts for suitability for presentation at the Congress, based on quality, originality, and relevance of subject matter. The call for abstracts ends on 31 July 2014.

Successful presenters will be notified by 14 August 2014 and will still receive the early bird registration rate.

A best contributed paper prize and best poster prize will be awarded by a judging panel. In addition, the National Asthma Council Australia is offering a $1,000 cash prize for the best paper or poster in the field of respiratory medicine.

PAC14 will give the opportunity for both oral and poster presentations:

Oral Presentation – This involves a single or multiple author presentation of completed research. Time allocation: 15 minutes (10 minutes for presentation, five minutes for question)

Poster Presentation – Poster presenters will have the opportunity to present their poster during the allocated poster exhibition times.

The abstract submission guidelines can found on the conference website at www.psa.org.au/PAC
