MIC Program

The full implementation of the Medicines Information to Consumers (MIC) program has begun. This is another initiative under the Third Agreement and provides pharmacists participating in the program with incentive payments to encourage them to use Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) in their daily professional practice.

Eligible pharmacists can now register to take part in the second phase of this program. A copy of the registration form is available from this website (see below for link).

Eligible pharmacists will also receive ongoing incentive payments for providing CMI at the rate of 10 cents per subsidized prescription. Pharmacists are asked to provide a signed certification statement to the HIC every two months verifying that they have provided CMI.
