Japan Quake – Message from JPA
3/11 Japan Quake & Tsunami – Message from JPA
Dear Colleagues, As the media may report, on March 11, an enormously powerful earthquake, followed by tsunami and aftershock, struck Japan. This has resulted in tremendous damage across a wide area, centered on the Tohoku (Northeast) district. Firstly, receiving many letters of sympathy and condolences from our colleagues in foreign countries, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks. The office of Japan Pharmaceutical Association, located in Tokyo, is safe and contactable today; e-mail, facsimile and telephone. Also President Takashi KODAMA, Vice-President Sentaro OIDE and Vice-President Nobuo YAMAMOTO are safe. Japan Pharmaceutical Association has set up the disaster task force, headed by President and composed of executives and staff. We are working to keep contact with pharmaceutical associations in the disaster districts, to gather/disseminate information and to provide support. Activities of pharmacists and associations in disaster areas has informed us their contribution to healthcare at this difficult time. Again, thank you for your warm messages. Sincerely, Takashi KODAMA President Japan Pharmaceutical Association |
