The warmth of our greetings come even stronger after the warm welcome received during a whirlwind visit to the Philippines to attend the National Convention of the Philippines Pharmacists’ Association in Davao. The main purpose of the visit was to promote the 25th FAPA Congress 2014. I was joined by the Honorary Treasurer Andrew Tan and Executive Director Lam Kai Kun. All three of us were impressed by the unity and solidarity shown during the Convention. The three day Convention was attended by 2560 pharmacists from all over the Country. The exhibition booths were well patronized, the biggest being from Unilabs. The Opening Ceremony was officiated by the National President Mrs Leonila Ocampo. For this Convention, 15 CPD was awarded to delegates but they not only have to attend every sessions, but they have to be attentive, otherwise they will be penalized 5 points at a time for inattentiveness. Very interesting condition to earn the CPD points!
Pharmacists, we look forward to welcome you at 25th FAPA Congress 2014 from 9th to 12th October 2014 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Every effort is made to ensure that you benefit from the Congress. There shall be 20 CPD points awarded to delegates. The deadline for early bird has been extended to 31-5-2014.
The registration fee for early birds is RM1, 050.00. This amount is very reasonable for an International Congress. What’s more it is held in our own Country.
On another note, the 47th MPS Seminar 2014 held from 23 – 25 May 2014 at Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur promises to be an rewarding event. The topic “Medication Safety – The Pharmacist’s Concern and Challenges for Pharmacy” is relevant as we explore the many issues facing Pharmacists today. Short, medium and long term strategies will also be explored. We look forward to a good turnout. There will also be a special forum for pharmacists to discuss challenges. Please read announcement on the forum. There will be 14 CPD Points awarded for the Seminar.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on 24th May 2014 afternoon. 20 nominations have been received and members will cast their votes to elect leaders of The Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society who shall lead the Society forward. Each member is a leader and we believe that our Society has been blessed with members who are confident, competent, caring, committed and compassionate. Let us contrive to come forward to serve and make a difference.
Thank you for showing that you care. See you soon.
