Exemption from Applying Night …

The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) applies the newly amended (list of payment/nonpayment of health insurance act and payment based on relative value scores)

The amended bill on exemption from applying night time differential payment which is scheduled to be enforced this July was notified by the government.

Just as the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced last May, the exemption of applying differential payment on night shifts will take effect, starting from 1st of July.

According to the law, differential payment will not be applied after 6pm during the weekdays and after 1pm on Saturdays.

On May 31, The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced a revised bill, (list of payment/nonpayment of health insurance act and payment based on relative value scores).

According to the amended law, the period of time of exemption from applying night differential payment will be from 6pm during the weekdays and 1pm on Saturdays to 9 am in the following morning.

Before the amendment, the differential payment used to be applied when the average number of doctors’ treatments or pharmacists’ prescriptions passed 75 irrespective of time.

In addition, The Ministry of Health and Welfare notified that it added a new phrase, ‘in case of exempting from applying differential payment, one must fill in number 1 at the third place of the computation code on items of outpatient check up fee and pharmacy’s prescription fee.
