The Pharmacy Guild and Federal Department of Health and Ageing announced a number of changes to Pharmacy Location Rules arising from a review of those rules conducted at the end of the Fourth Community Pharmacy Agreement.

These changes are first and foremost designed to preserve the network of well- distributed, sustainable and accessible community pharmacies across Australia and to ensure that pharmacies operate in areas of community need.

The changes, to come into effect from 18 October this year, will update the rules to make them more transparent and effective.
