Dialogue with the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD)

Last May 21, PPhA Officers and Board of Directors met with the officers of BFAD and discussed the issues as follows: Botika ng Barangay, advertising guidelines, on-call pharmacists, ladderized pharmacy education, registration of drugs with similar brand names but with different active ingredients, counterfeit drugs, parallel importation and participation of BFAD in PPhA Continuing Education Program. Several solutions and recommendations were put forth and the most significant of which is the drafting of a Memorandum of Agreement particularly on the role of PPhA in the issues discussed.
