Obligatory physician reply to the pharmacist inquiry of prescriptions
When pharmacist has doubts in the prescription during the dispensing, pharmacist gives phone call to the physician who issued the prescription. In most of these cases in Korea, nurses reply to the phone call inquiries, while physicians are said to be too busy. To achieve mutual trust between physicians and pharmacists for correct and efficient use of medical supplies, Korean government introduced a bill that stipulates obligatory physician reply to the pharmacist inquiry of prescriptions in spite of strong opposite view from physicians. This bill, however, has so many exception clauses and is needed to be amended accordingly.
