Jun-2007 The 2 decade old Pharmacists Registration Act has been redrafted and the Pharmacists Registration (Amendment) Bill was presented by Ministry of Health for public consultation between 11-Jun-2007 to 6-Jul-2007. Some of the most significant changes to be introduced included: ˙introduction of compulsory continuing professional education (CPE) for pharmacists, ˙the setting up of a Pharmacist Specialists Register, ˙the introduction of a more rigorous disciplinary proceedings framework, ˙the conversion of the current Singapore Pharmacy Board to a new statuary body known as the Singapore Pharmacy Council. The bill is expected to be read in the Parliament and passed into laws by the end of 2007. |
