is looking for a

General Secretary/Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The qualified applicant should have a broad knowledge of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. It is preferred that the candidate has additional training or experience in leadership and management.

 The position requires: 

  • Engaging with the elected officers and volunteers in assuring good governance of the organisation
  • Managing a team of eight staff members
  • Responsibility for financial management
  • Reporting to and advising the Executive Committee/Bureau
  • Creating and maintaining contacts with FIP members (individual and organisational), the World Health Organization, the UNESCO and the World Health Professionals Alliance and other partner organisations

The candidate is required to be fluent in written and spoken English. Ability in additional languages would be an advantage.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and must be prepared to live in the vicinity of The Hague, the Netherlands.

Project Coordinator / Policy Analyst

The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), which represents pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists globally, is pleased to announce the opening of a new position: Project Coordinator / Policy Analyst.

This position will be based at the FIP headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Professional and Scientific Affairs, the Project Coordinator / Policy Analyst will support policy development, activities of the FIP Boards of Pharmaceutical Practice and Sciences and the monitoring and dissemination of information about FIP Member Organisation activities.

For this position we are seeking an individual who has graduated from an accredited and recognised School/Faculty of Pharmacy with some experience in professional (or student) organisations. Candidates must be fluent (ideally native) in both written and spoken English and proficient in reading and/or speaking at least one other language (ideally French, Arabic, Spanish, German or Chinese). The candidate should be knowledgeable about and have an interest in public health as well as enjoy teamwork.

Key competencies for the role include structured thinking and analysis, excellent writing and presentation skills, good planning skills and the capability to summarize complex information.
